SATs results celebrated at Lingwood

Lingwood Primary Academy are celebrating a cracking set of SATs results.

The Year 6 class achieved a superb 81% reaching the expected standard in reading, writing and maths. Not only was this a big improvement from the previous year but significantly above the national average of 62%.

Interim Headteacher Mr Jeffery said: “I am delighted with these results which reflect the hard work the children and Mr Dibden have put in throughout the year. Even more pleasing than the high numbers of children reaching this milestone is the progress made by those children that didn’t quite get to the expected standard.”

It has not just been about the results. A Year 6 team took part in the Unity Schools Partnership athletics competition at Bury St Edmunds. They competed in 75m, 600m, long jump and vortex throwing. They came a creditable 8th demonstrating the school values of determination and ambition.

As a reward for all of their hard work, the class travelled on the train to Great Yarmouth for beach games, chips and ice creams.
