Enrichment
Each year group receives the opportunity to participate in a range of additional activities to support the wider school curriculum.
Leadership
Each year, pupils in Years 5 and 6 are invited to apply for a range of roles and responsibilities to help support the rest of the pupils here at Lingwood Primary Academy. This also includes the important roles of Head Pupils.
The Head Pupils are selected from Year 6 pupils who put themselves forward to represent the pupils and to be ambassadors for the school. The applications are done at the end of the summer term, so that the roles are in place for the new year. Their responsibilities include: showing visitors around the school; helping arrange and allocate the rest of the responsible roles for Years 5 and 6 and helping in assemblies.
This year, our Head Pupils are Freddie and Amelie.
Reading Ambassadors
We have a beautiful and well used library which sits at the heart of the school. We run Junior Librarian which monitors our book usage and tracks the books across all children in the school.
Our Reading Ambassadors have some training on Junior Librarian, so that they can help others in changing their books.
In school, children from every year group are able to visit the library and access the hundreds of exciting genres available to them.

Playground Pals
Being a Playground Buddy at lunchtime involves helping the younger children when they have their play time outside after their lunch. Playground Buddies also support play with other children, and organise games and activities for them. There is a weekly rota for the Buddies, so that they know which day they help out.
Eco and School Council
The eco council is run weekly by Miss Mills and two children are selected from each year group to be their class representatives. They work on reducing our carbon footprint across the school, working with Energy Sparks who come into school to support our pupils knowledge and understanding.
The school council is also run weekly by Miss Mills and two children are selected from each year group to be their class representatives. They work on developing fundraising initiatives across the school and gain pupil voice to improve many areas of school life. for example improving the playground and lunchtime activities available for all students.
Assembly Monitors
This position involves pupils making sure the hall is ready for assembly on Monday and Friday – helping with chairs for staff and parents and benches for Year 6 before the assembly begins. They are also often responsible for starting and stopping the music played at the beginning and end of assembly.
