· Swimming lessons are going really well – such an important life skills for all children

· A successful BBC Look East article – well done to the Eco-council, pupils from across the school and Ms Mills!
· Our children demonstrating our Lingwood values in their daily interactions in and around school
And much, more!
Now that the weather is turning, could we please ask that all children come to school with appropriate coats so that they can enjoy outdoor playtimes as fully as possible.

Year group news
Nursery
This week, Nursery have continued with the story of Meg and Mog. They have been exploring pumpkins and spiderwebs and really enjoyed looking at pictures of each other celebrating Halloween. In maths we have been thinking about repeated patterns in songs and stories and also in our everyday routines.
Reception Rabbits
This week Rabbits class have enjoyed ‘Room on the Broom’, retelling the story through drama and story maps and talking about our favourite stories. In maths we have consolidated our understanding of numbers up to 3, while thinking about how the whole number 3 can be broken down into parts. It has been a busy half term, and we have squeezed in so much amazing learning! We have been so proud of how quickly the children have settled into their daily routines, how hard they work, and how kind they are.
Hares
Hare’s have had a wonderful half term and topped it off by writing instructions on how to carve a pumpkin. Ms Freezer, Miss Russell and Mrs Nelson are extremely proud of how well the class have settled into Year 1 together and wish everyone a safe and happy half term!
Fawns
Fawns have finished this half term with another wonderful week. They have been working hard to edit and redraft parts of their stories and have showed determination in maths when solving subtraction problems with exchanged. Well done for an excellent start to the year, have a lovely half term and I look forward to hearing all about it after the break.
Otters
Otters have been learning how to subtract using column method in maths. We have been exchanging across 10, 100 and 1000 and have been using place value headings and resources to help us. In writing this week, we have been analysing the poem A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky by Lewis Carroll; I have been impressed with the imagery the children have drawn from the poem.
Badgers
Badgers have been busy doing more cooking. This week, we made smørrebrød, which is a Danish open sandwich. The class were great at making their smørrebrød look appealing and they enjoyed the taste! In English, we have started planning our balanced argument and in maths, we have continued our work on addition and subtraction. Finally, we have started our new core text The Explorer, in reading and the class are definitely enthralled with the story! Have a lovely half term Badgers!
Foxes
Foxes have had a fantastic last week of term. They finished their moral story in English, have made massive progress in maths with multiplying and have finished their book Rooftoppers. Also, in DT, the class made pitta bread and houmous.
