Art is a motivational and encouraging subject, which can be taught alone or within other subjects. Art and design allows the children to express themselves creatively, imaginatively and emotionally through visual opportunities via the main areas of the curriculum; drawing, painting, collage, printing, 3D work and textiles. Not only can children learn and develop their skills in use and exploration of colour, line, tone, texture, form, shape and pattern, they can also develop as an individual emotionally, aesthetically, physically, socially and cognitively. Our school provides endless opportunities to present their learning through art and design throughout the entire curriculum. We also offer an extra-curricular art club and look forward to an art week where the whole school work towards a large-scale piece of art work, usually in the Spring first half term. Take a look around our bright, colourful and inspirational school to see our art work featuring throughout the building and classrooms.
Sensory Walk Through – Tuesday 17th July 2018
All the classes produced art and other pieces of work based around their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) project on ‘Building a Zoo’. These were displayed in the Blue Room for parents to take a look at the children’s work in an exciting sensory walkthrough. #ArtsMarkAward
