Headteachers Update

It has been wonderful seeing the pupils returning to school this term in smart uniform with smiles on their faces. We understand that returning to school can be challenging after the long summer break but we are all here to ensure the transition back can be as smooth as possible for us all. The children are settling well into their classes and showing great enthusiasm for all their new learning and topics. We are very proud of every pupil and their attitudes towards learning. All class letters and learning content have been shared with you via MCAS email. If you have any questions around your child’s curriculum please speak directly to your class teacher.

Thank you for your continuing support.

Attendance Update
Last week's whole school attendance 96.6%

At Lingwood Primary Academy, we strive for the highest possible standard of education for all pupils and recognise that this can only be achieved by supporting and promoting excellent attendance. This is based on the belief that only by attending school regularly and punctually will pupils be able to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them. Parents and carers play a key role in ensuring primary-aged pupils attend school regularly and arrive on time.

We thank you for your continuing support.

Don’t be late through the gate!

The school gates open at 8:30am with the register closing at 8:50am.  Being late on a regular basis adds up to a loss of learning time.

5 minutes late every day - 3.4 days of learning lost every year

10 minutes late every day - 6.9 days of learning lost every year

15 minutes late every day - 10.3 days of learning lost every year

20 minutes late every day - 13.8 days of learning lost every year

30 minutes late every day - 20.7 days of learning lost every year

Cycle to School Week

This fun event is coming up at the end of this month.

If you would like some support on how to cycle or scooter to school safely with your child then visit the website https://www.bikeclub.com.

We will be talking to the children about this upcoming event in assembly and about the positive impact that cycling and scootering to school can have on their health, the environment and even their learning!

Street Dance, Bush Craft and Basketball After-School Clubs

After-school clubs started last week and all the children had a brilliant time.

The leaders of these after-school activities commented on the enthusiasm and excitement shown by the children.  Such clubs are a fantastic way in which the children can learn a new skill, build resilience and have fun!

There are still a few places left on the Street Dance club on a Tuesday after-school for children in Year 3 to 6 - please contact the school office if you are interested.

Headteachers Update This week, the children have certainly made the most of the sunny weather. It has been so lovely to see the playground pals and children using our new playground equipment. The sound speaker and pom poms have been a big hit! Fantastic idea school council. We love to hear pupil voice. Today we all got involved in supporting Miss Long by wearing green and going outdoors to walk some steps. We wish her the best of luck tomorrow on her mighty hike. Next week, we will be getting involved in the Mental Health awareness week. It will also be time for our Year 6 pupils to shine in their national curriculum tests. Thank you to all the parents who came Wednesday evening. It was really positive meeting and we are looking forward to our next chapters to improve our school. Have a lovely weekend.
